Christian Said:Oregano - washing, storage, and recipes?
We Answered:With so much, you may want to dry it. Wash it first, dry in paper towels. Bundle them up at the base of the stem with some kitchen twine and hang up side down. When they are dry, crush the stems between your hands onto wax paper and transfer to an airtight container. Save a bundle to use fresh in some spaghetti sauce or it's great in greek dishes. Add some fresh chopped to red wine vinegar, olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper for a greek dressing.

Julio Said:How much oregano goes in a sugar cookie recipe designed to yield three dozen cookies?
We Answered:well, every recipe is different and of course a lot of cooking is "to taste" but generally speaking you want about 1/3 cup of oregano in there. I made some yesterday and I added chopped spinach too. They were beautiful, healthy and delicious. Good luck!
Chris Said:Is it necessary to dry my oregano before I use it in a recipe?
We Answered:I grow my own year round and I love it! Just cut up the amount you want and add it to your recipes. It has a much better and different flavor than dried. Just remember that you will need to use less than you would use of dried.
