1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 whole orange with peel - chopped, seeded and puree
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
Combine the shortening and the sugar and mix until light. Stir in the vanilla, milk and ground orange. Add the flour, baking powder, and the baking soda. Mix until combined. Let dough sit for 15 minutes then drop teaspoon sized drops onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) for about 7 to 10 minutes or until done.

1. Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease (or lightly spray with cooking spray) bottom only of 13x9-inch pan. Add enough water to drink mix to measure 1 1/4 cups.
2. In large bowl, beat cake mix, drink mix, oil and egg whites on low speed 2 minutes. Pour into pan. Bake and cool and directed on box.
3. Gently stir lime peel into whipped topping; spread over top of cake. Garnish with strawberries. Store covered in refrigerator.
High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Add enough water to drink mix to measure 1 1/2 cups. Follow High Altitude cake mix directions for 13x9-inch pan.

1 c orange segments chopped (or use entire orange with rind - grind)
1 12 oz package cranberries
2 c sugar
1 c unpeeled apple chopped
½ c seedless raisins (white preferred)
½ c orange juice
¼ c walnuts chopped
1 T cider vinegar
½ t powdered ginger
½ t cinnamon
Combine ingredients in large sauce pan, boil and continue to simmer until cranberries pop (10 min) … can in sterilized jars or refrigerate (3 ½ pints)
