Recipes for making flavored oatmeals at home?

We Answered:

If you need to make it up beforehand and put it into little packets, you would only use dry ingredients, of course.
I make oatmeal nearly every day for my family (buy it in 25 pound bags--organic--- for cheap) since they'd get really bored with it, I add different stuff each day. Its just about as fast to add whatever you want while it cooks as it is to premix it and store it.
Here are some of the things I add as it cooks or when it is done:
bananas and honey
cinnamon and apples and brown sugar
maple syrup and walnuts
chopped almonds and honey
any fruit in season--- liike blueberries, peaches, etc. with sugar or honey
frozen or dried fruit when fresh is not around
choppped dates or figs

These aren't exactly recipes, as I add them to taste.

If you really want to package it, put about a cup of instant oatmeal into a Ziplock. Add about 1/8 tsp. salt, a couple tsp. sweetener of choice (sugar, crystalized maple syrup, brown sugar) and whatever nut or dried fruit you'd like in the quantity you like. Zip it up and later pour into 2 cups boiling water.
makes a good sized bowl.

what are some good maple whiskey recipes?

We Answered:

I tried searching for recipes but apparently there's no such thing as maple whiskey. I even did a search for just maple whiskey and nothing relevant came up. What's the brand because I've never heard of maple whiskey before?

Any recipes for Maple flavored fudge without nuts?

We Answered:

Any vanilla fudge recipe using maple in place of vanilla will work, or omit the nuts in a maple recipe. Also check with the Vermont maple Association. They often have recipes on the sites there.

Hugh Said:

a recipe calls for 2 teaspoons of maple "flavor". can i just use maple syrup and if so, is 2 teaspoons enough

We Answered:

Nope, maple syrup won't work as a substitute in the recipe (yeah, it does have the flavor aspect to it of course, but it's very sugary and may mess up the recipe).

The maple flavor is more of a concentrate. You should be able to find it at your local grocery store, but you may want to call ahead and make sure they have it.
