Try looking on the back or the side of the graham cracker crumb box. There is usually a recipe there. Never mind, I went to the pantry. Hereya go.....

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
2 Tablespoons sugar
5 Tablespoons butter or margarine, melted

Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar and butter, mixing well. Spread evenly over the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie pan, pressing firmly. Chill one hour before filling. Or bake in 350 degree oven for 8 minutes, cool, chill, and fill.

The traditional may be better. But, it not hurt to try this, that how new recipes are born, through trial and error. Good Luck and save me a piece. What I have found to keep a pecan pie lest runny is whip everything with a electric blender for a minute and chop the pecans.

It is similar to what you are describing but instead of 9X13in pan it is done in a graham cracker pie crust.

GRAHAM CRACKER CRUST

1 1/4 c. (20 crackers) graham cracker crumbs
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 lg. egg white (1 tbsp.)
2 tbsp. Canola oil
2 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine all ingredients with 1 tablespoon water and stir with a fork until evenly moistened.

Pour into pie shell, 9" and press with fingers evenly in bottom and up sides.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. (The crust will firm up as it cools).

The graham cracker crust will be fine with the meringue topping. Bake it the same as if you were using a regular short crust. So make some vanilla pudding. Slice bananas into crust, add pudding, then top with meringue and bake until the meringue is gorgeously browned!
