Can Gulden's Spicy Brown mustard be substituted for "dijon" mustard in a vinegrette recipe? We Answered:
Yes and no.Dijon mustard is made with wine. Dijon wine, from the Dijon region in France.
ANY mustard can be used in ANY recipe calling for mustard. I doubt you will taste much difference in a vinagrette recipe. Now, if you use "Beer and Brat Mustard," which has horseradish in it, you would notice it, because that vinagrette would be quite lively on the tongue, but the Spicy brown should do you fine.

Dijon Mustard?We Answered:
You can substitute regular mustard. However, Dijon has a very unique flavor. If you ever decide to buy Dijon mustard, make sure it is imported from Dijon, France. The American version doesn't taste nearly as good.

What is your favourite recipe with Dijon mustard? We Answered:
Curry Chicken ThighsIngredients
6 chicken thighs or more
4 T. butter
1/2 c. honey
1/4 c. dijon mustard
1 tsp salt
1 tsp curry powder
Directions
Melt butter then add the rest of the ingredients except chicken. Remove skin and excess fat from chicken. Roll chicken in sauce and put in greased baking dish. Pour remaining sauce over chicken. Bake uncovered @ 375 for an hour. (I like to baste every 15 mins or so.) This is great with rice and broccoli. Makes 6 servings. I just make 6 for my family but this is plenty or sauce to make more thighs.
