We Answered:FRIED CABBAGE AND NOODLES
1 head of cabbage
1 box of elbow noodles
Cut up head of cabbage and saute in butter in skillet. Reduce heat and continue to cook slowly. Meanwhile, in a large pot of salted boiling water, prepare 1 box of elbow macaroni according to package directions.
Once noodles are done and the cabbage is soft, drain the noodles and mix with the buttered cabbage.
Cover and let simmer on low for about 15 minutes.
This is a very old recipe that tastes fantastic. You can almost eat the whole thing yourself. Enjoy!!!
Lillie Said:My husband bought a large head of cabbage, what easy recipes can I use for this?
We Answered:You can always turn some cabbage into cole-slaw, if it's too big.
But since St.Paddy is coming, corned beef & cabbage sounds good.
Quarter the cabbage, & remove core/stem & outer leaves, then halve.
Rinse in cold water, arrange sections in crock-pot over potatoes.
Actual corned beef brisket would be better than canned.
Cook on High for 4 hours, or Low for 8 hours. Serve with mustard.

We Answered:Have you ever tried cooked red cabbage?
Thinly shred 1 head of red cabbage. In a pot, add 2 cups of vegetable stock and 1-2 cups of red wine. Salt and pepper to taste. If you prefer it sweet, add 1/4 cup of black or red currant jelly. Be sure to add 2 Tbsp. of apple cider vinegar before it cooks, otherwise it will turn blue!
Bring to boil and then simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour. It's a fat-free and healthy side dish that can be served hot or cold.
Have a good weekend! Peace...

We Answered:Shredded Green Cabbage Salad with Lemon and Garlic
This light, tangy salad could not be simpler: shredded green cabbage tossed with lemon, garlic, olive oil and salt. Wonderful with fish, the salad is also a popular accompaniment to kaftah, or Middle Eastern braised ground beef.
1 garlic clove
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 pounds green cabbage, cored and finely shredded
In a mortar, pound the garlic to a puree. Stir in the lemon juice and olive oil.
In a large bowl, toss the cabbage with the dressing. Season with salt and toss again. Serve right away or let the salad rest in the dressing for the flavor to penetrate deeper.
Red Cabbage Salad
1 onion, finely chopped
14 ounces red cabbage, finely sliced
5 tablespoons sunflower oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon mustard
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
Combine cabbage and onion in a large bowl.
In another bowl whisk together oil, lemon juice, mayonnaise, mustard and cumin.
Pour over cabbage mixture.
For best flavour allow to marinate a minimum of 2 hours before serving.
