Brian Said:

Does 1 Tbsp of Chicken Bouillon equal 1 cube (4g)?

We Answered:

One (tablespoon) measure is equal to 3 teaspoons

Here's how I've done it. It may differ from brand to brand but this always works...easy

On the box or jar that the cubes come in it says 1 cube per 1 cup of water to make broth.

On the jar that the chicken buillion powder comes in it says use 2 teaspoons for 2 cups of water to make broth.

so....

1 teaspoon of powdered bouillon would be equal to 1 cube

Read the jar to be sure..but just think how much makes 1 cup of broth? Do the math and enjoy! I think that's why they taught math in school..so we could cook??

Does anyone know any good recipes using tomato, garlic or onion flavored bouillon cubes?

We Answered:

I have a recipe my whole family loves, it's like chicken cacciatore.

get out a roasting pan for baking, spread your chicken in the pan. Pour a dry white wine over the chicken, just enough to cover the bottom of the chicken. Sprinkle some chicken bullion over the chicken, (1 cube if you use the cubes). Season with salt and pepper, cut up 1 onion, 1bell pepper, 1 fresh tomato, 7 fresh garlic cloves, (mashed preferably) you can also add mushrooms and black olives (1 can) any style you prefer, ( whole, sliced or diced ) i prefer the sliced olives. Spread 3 or 4 bay leaves here and there, Pour a small can of tomato sauce over the chicken. Then put about 4 way heaping tablespoons of margarine here and there over the chicken. Do this in the morning and put in fridge until ready to cook. The longer you soak the chicken in wine, the better. Bake at 350 approx. until done, about an hour to an hour 1/2 depending on oven.

Note: This is a dish you can add or subtract certain ingredients. When the chicken is almost done I cut up small pieces of potatoes, with or without skin, pour most of the juice from the chicken into the pan for boiling potatoes, I try not to add water, add white wine and margarine to build your juice, if you need water you can add just enough to cover potatoes. I hope you like it. My Family calls it Chicken ala Nancy.

Eugene Said:

Can you substitute one cube of beef bouillon for one can of beef consomme?

We Answered:

1 cube = 1 cup

Velma Said:

How do you use beef bouillon in this recipe?

We Answered:

Dilute the bouillon with water first. The ratio of hot water to bouillon should be on the packaging. Otherwise, your recipe could turn out very salty.

Jonathan Said:

If a recipe calls for two teaspoons bouillon cube, how much broth is that?

We Answered:

It should tell you on the package but most are one cube or teaspoon of bouillon to one cup of water. So two cups of broth would replace two teaspoons. Remember to decrease your other liquids if you add broth. If you do not eat beef you can use any broth you like.
