Robert Said:

Can I replace almond flour with all-purpose flour in a recipe?

We Answered:

Almond flour is finely ground almonds. When used in a recipe almond flour creates a delicate texture which is very desirable in many cookie recipes specifically. Unlike real flour it has no absorption qualities.
If you have a food processor pulse grind almonds (start with slivered almonds) Do not create a paste. Once finely ground spread out and let dry for about an hour for textural purposes. Some bulk natural markets may carry this product.
If you have no intention of doing this add 2tablespoons per cup of almond flour and it should be workable but the texture will not be comparable.

As a side note the person who commented before me if referring to almond paste which is almonds finely ground with sugar to create a paste....Different product...

How much almond butter is made from 1/4 cup almonds?

We Answered:

The pureed volume of the almond butter is likely about 1/4-1/3 the volume of the pre-"crushing" stage.

This is, before you add the other ingredients.

How do you color white almond bark?

We Answered:

Hi. If you are going to use the paste, try mixing the paste with just a small amount of the bark until it's completely blended - and make sure the bark is HOT. THEN mix it in with the rest of the bark. Also, you can just use food coloring - I'm assuming you are using red and blue. It will work just fine. Happy 4th!!!

Rita Said:

Can chocolate flavored almond bark be substituted for Baker's semi-sweet baking chocolate squares ?

We Answered:

Not unless the bark is made out of semi-sweet chocolate. I would be willing to bet that the almond bark is made out of chocolate flavored candy coating, which is not going to give you the same deep chocolate flavor of semi sweet chocolate.

The good news is, you could probably substitute semi-sweet morsels (chocolate chips) if you have those. But the bark wouldn't be good unless you want your fudge to taste greasy.
